One on One Counseling
& Couples Counseling

“The critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage."
― Bessel A. van der Kolk
WHAT TO EXPECT
I am a non-traditional counselor with non-traditional training. Many of my clients initially reached out to me because they were seeking something different after encountering some limitations in traditional talk therapy. I guide my clients in building a profound connection with themselves and their lives using somatic, intuitive, and spirit-connected engagement. I also work from a feminist, non-heteronormative, anti-racist lens, helping clients to build awareness around and free themselves from the embedded narratives we have adopted from our experiences of wounding both within our families and within our society. I work with techniques of spiritual and somatic psychology including  Focusing, Psychosynthesis, Jungian Dream Analysis, and Somatic Experiencing. My work with wounding and grief focuses on healing through the body which releases stuck pain without reliving traumatic events. I am both direct and supportive with my approach, offering a compassionate and growth-inducing environment.

"Classical psychological theory tends to, by absolute omission, split the human psyche away from relationship to the land on which humans live, away from the knowledge of the cultural etiologies of malaise and unrest, and also to sever psyche from the politics and policies which shape the inner and outer lives of humans- as though that outer world were not just as surreal, not just as symbol-laden, not just as impacting and imposing upon one's soul-life as the inner din." -Clarissa Pinkola Estes
